S/O Yachty but This Ain't a Lil Boat (Dubai Cont.)
I find that when most people talk about their time in Dubai, they almost ALWAYS mention the Desert Safari Tour. I’ll admit, the Desert Safari was a great excursion and exceeded my expectations. I was extremely pleased and thought it would easily be the best moment on the trip. It included camel rides, a frightening but fun ATV ride through the desert, unbelievable photo ops, a buffet dinner with belly dancer entertainment, henna tattoos and shisha. It was lit.
But from my title, ya'll know I’m not really here to talk about the dessert safari. I’m here to talk about my all-time favorite Dubai memory. The travel crew and I decided to book a 2-hour yacht tour on Groupon and would you believe that on the actual day of the excursion, I jumped up out of bed at 12pm and realized we’d missed our tour?! We were supposed to be at the Dubai Marina at 11am for our 2-hour yacht cruise with Day & Night Yachts. While everyone sat up abruptly in disbelief, I quickly grabbed the excursion voucher and called the contact number. After frantically explaining the situation, we were able to simply adjust our appointment. We let out a sigh of relief as we continued to get ready for the cruise, which mostly involved getting cute.
Determined to make sure the yacht memorable experience, we packed speakers, champagne, a bottle of Honey Jack (both purchased at Duty Free), snacks, made a popping a$$ play list, and made sure everyone had their waterproof phone cases on. We arrived to the Marina around 1:30pm, checked into the tour, and took snaps of our surroundings while we waited for our boat to be ready. To say the Yacht was lit would be an understatement. As soon as the captain and the assistant introduced themselves and explained our itinerary, we unpacked our bag of tricks, plugged our phones into the boat speakers, and popped the bottle of champagne. During our two-hour cruise (which turned into four hours), we danced, took pics for the gram, went jet skiing with the captain, and passed by famed landmarks such as Burj Al Arab, Atlantis and the Palm Jumeirah. We even got the captain to Azonto to some African music! After an amazing trip on the water, we arrived to the dock, thanked and praised our captains, and returned back to the hotel tipsy and worn out. Best. Time. Ever.
